About Us

Costello's Nursing Home is owned and run by Shay & Sarah Costello. Both of us are qualified Nurses and have a vast amount of experience in the area of Caring for Elderly, spanning over the past 20 years.
We have also established and developed a Nursing Home in Co. Wicklow which is considered to be one of the best and most prestigious in the region.
We have a thorough knowledge of every aspect of Nursing Home care and we have a modem and professional approach.
Shay has held several positions within the Irish Nursing Homes Organisation and represented Nursing Homes on Committees at National level.
Sarah has undertaken postgraduate studies in Phlebotomy, Physical therapy and is a fully qualified instructor in both Manual Handling & Risk Assessment and in dealing with behaviours that challenge.
Both Shay and Sarah are qualified Fetac tutors and they provide extensive and on-going in-house training to all our staff in the many aspects of caring for the elderly.

We encourage as much independence for each guest and provide a supportive and caring environment where each person feels secure and valued, ensuring they are treated in a dignified manner at all times.
Activities
A varied range of recreational activities and social functions are provided in the centre which cater for all tastes, some of which are newspaper discussions, arts and crafts, bingo, cards, singing & games to name but a few.
There are a range of complimentary therapies and professional services available to all our residents several times a week. Our activities co-ordinator in conjunction with our residents committee organise events throughout the year to celebrate special occasions.
Arrangements are in place for so that each resident can continue to practise/attend their own religious services. Priests and Pastors visit regularly. Mass is celebrated in our Oratory twice weekly and communion is administered several times a week. Prayers are celebrated daily. There is an Oratory (prayer room) in the nursing home where residents can spend time in prayer and reflection.
Catering
All food is freshly prepared in our kitchen by a team of qualified cooks who prepare a varied, nutritious and highly palate menu catering for all tastes. All special diets are cared for and each resident has their own personalised food plan, which is revised regularly.
We provide home baking, drinks and snacks to our residents throughout the day.
Our menus are nutritionally analysed by an independent company and is found to be of an exceedingly nutritious standard. We are fully complaint with all food hygiene regulations.
